Frequency Distributions, Tables & Histograms

The best method of learning how to make a frequency distribution is to make a stem & leaf plot which serves as both a frequency table and a frequency histogram at the same time.
Once learned it is very easy to use STATDISK or a TI-84 or EXCEL to make the frequency histogram directly.
The phrase "distribution" is a generic phrase that refers to the shape, picture or pattern of the data under investigation.
The distribution is very difficult to discern by looking at an unorganized table of data such as Table 2-1.
Thus we will organize the data by creating a frequency table and a frequency histogram.
A frequency table is an organized table.
A frequency histogram is a graph of the frequency table.
